Meet Mrs. Howard

Hello!  My name is Nicole Howard, and this will be my 17th year of teaching.  I have taught 5th grade, 3rd grade, a 1st and 2nd multi-age, and this is my sixth year with all 2nd graders.  I truly love 2nd grade; such a fun age!

I am originally from Baldwin, WI.  I attended UW-River Falls and graduated in 2002 with a Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education.  In 2011, I completed my Master's in Literacy from St. Mary's University.  I love teaching all the subject areas, but I especially love reading and writing.  In the primary grades, it is so rewarding to experience students connecting with favorite stories and authors.  I also love to engage students in the writing process of telling their stories or creating fiction adventures.

Outside of school I stay very busy with my husband, Justin, and our two children, Mason and Ellie.  It has been so fun watching Mason and Ellie grow into the amazing kids they are!  Outside of teaching and spending time with my family, I also enjoy running and being active, baking, reading, and scrapbooking.

I look forward to working with you and your child this year! Please feel free to contact me with any questions!
